Hello Reader! My name is Haelphon, to start off basic. Some of you may know me as the “Tree_Lord” Let me give you a brief background on my life before I had ever dealt with trees, first! I was the first born, into a family of four. I had one other brother, and two sisters. I was the oldest, and then My brother and my sisters followed soon after. My father, Polcari served under King Sheffield of Oren for many years prior to me. He was a fantastic military strategist and also a very humurous gentlemen. I shared a fantastic love for my father, as I did with my mother who was an elf. That’s right! I am a halfling. Half Elf, Half Human. Am I ashamed? Not necessarily. In fact, not at all! Many people today even in different races look down upon haflings, even ones as Orcs. That being said, when I was 16, undead attacked Alkhazar, but very briefly. They were heading to all of the high-ranking officials that served the Oren Nation. My brother and sisters were too young to wield swords, and fight, and my father did not want to risk my mother. I was his only child that could fight. I helped my father fend off many attacks, and we had hope in store. Prior to the battle, my father told me to listen to every order he made, and I had to follow all. The time came when he told me to head back to the house and start setting kegs full of gunpowder. I was curious as to why he had wanted this, but I was soon to find out. He was overwhelmed and surrounded by viscious monsters, and my father commanded me to light the keg and dump it into the fray from our loft. He made me promise, and knew what he was g etting himself into. It killed my father, as well as the rest of the monsters, but my mother, who I have always loved claimed I had murdered him from insanity. Soon my all my family and extended family heard of this, and I fled. Way farther then I ever anticip ated. I became lost. I soon came across a small dwarf settlement along a large lake, and I was brought in and tought how fish with the utmost skill. It was fascinating. I stayed there for four years until I turned twenty, and then I decided to bring myself back to Alk’ Hazar and face my family. I began my long journey, and along the way I met a few good friends. Aedan; who is now married and has one child, expecting another. Verigan, who’s story and whereabouts I am unaware of. Romanen, who he and I used to be the best of friends, until he began to conspire against the Oren Government, attempting to lead revolts and dabbling with the undead. He was killed in battle defending near Kramoroe. Next, we have Bircalin. Ah, Bircalin. We used to be like brothers, very close, until Aedan fell sick from a taint. Bircalin abandoned us, after claiming he got lost, and I then swore to kill him. I never completed this quest because now I feel like once again Bircalin has restored his honor for the mostpart, but I still do not trust him. After breaking apart from most of my friends, apart from Aedan, I was once again on my own. There were no dwarves to help me, no people to remember my family. The nation I once new as Oren was now a distant memory. So! Now we get onto the chunk of meat that is how it all started. I began taking up a guard post at Al’Khazar. The pay was fair, 50 minas a week. Unfortunately, I still have not recieved 2000 minas in payment, because the treasuries were having s light issues. I don’t have intentions of solving this at the moment. At this point, Aedan had fallen in love with his, now wife, Indelwehn. I was very thrilled with how they acted with each other, and I liked the sense of company they had for eachother. I never did grow jealous of the two, and they are still like family to me. This prompted me to begin searching for a companion, mostly out of loneliness. I shared a house with Bircalin, Romanen, and Verigan just as well at the time. We had scored the house because we were adventuring to find our passions. When the friendships fell apart, I was alone, until Aedan came back with Indelwehn, in dire sickness . They soon bought their own house, in which they live now. I was now totally alone, and I found a young girl wandering the paths of the forests. No, I did not want a relationship with her, she was 14. I took her in, made sure she was well, and I never saw her again. I enjoyed having someone to share stories with, all the same. After more time in the Oren Guard, I soon became very lonely again, and I heard of a gorgeous Waywatcher for the Laurelin Guard, and she did not have a courtship! Naturally I was excited, espescially to hear that she was tought as well! I found out that her name was Felore, from Aedan. He chuckled at the thought that I wanted to have a relationship so quickly, but I playfully punched and we laughed. I soon began to see Felore, although it was a weekly occurence I began to develop strong feelings for her. It was then, that I decided to chop down wood and sell it to the Legendary High Prince Native for a brand new house in his new city in Malinor. I raised exactly 3000 minas, with extra minas for food and furnishings. I was overjoyed, and Felore enjoyed the location better than the design. Ha! Anyway, so here I am, in a relationship with a fantasticely lovely elf, and I thought “It can’t get better than I have it. I love life. Thank ye father!” Then, I hear announced via a travelling messenger that the esteemed High Prince Native was having a building competition for trees! I decided to try my luck, and unfortunately I failed out of rolling a high enough score on my pair of dice. The High Prince soon said “Let’s have another go! out of one hundred! Not twenty!” Everyone was overjoyed, but not as overjoyed as I was! “This was my shot,” I exclaimed! We all rolled, and I got a seventy-three out of one-hundred. I was a bit down-cast, after listening the the Dwarves, Humans, and Elves shouting out their numbers with joy. It may have been the spur of the moment, like the cry of a newborn baby, but I felt as if I hadn’t lost yet. High Prince Native soon announced, “IF you got a seventy-three to one-hundred, stand over here!” I soon shouted, “High Prince! What if we GOT seventy-three?!” “Haelphon,” He said, “You beat it by a hair!” He chuckled, as I joined the group. “Contestants!” Native exclaimed, “Now is your moment! Who is the best undiscovered tree-constructor” . We all chose our lots, there were I believe eight or so. Each one the exact same size. He supplied us all with Dark wood, and set us off to our task! As I began, Felore was gleaming at me with joy, and she walked up to me, whispered “Hael, I know you’ll do great!” I looked her in the eyes, grinned, and began to build my first tree. <><>“Lord of the Trees: Woodland Conquest” coming soon!
