A curious thing, the monster spawner (commonly refered to as a spawner) is a device found most often underground that spews out creatures of varying evilness. Their origins remain a mystery. :: One theory suggests that they were placed by the God as a way to test us, and make sure that we are strong enough to fight off evil. Another theory states that they were placed by Iblees in a bid to kill his enemies. While both theories have their flaws, they both make good points and should be taken into consideration. :: The spawners only seem to work under low-light conditions, and placing a few torches around it will stop it from working. The only other way would to destroy it with blunt force, which few people do since it provides monsters to train on. ::In closing, whatever their origin may be monster spawners remain a dangerous, if useful, artifact that one should avoid.
